Patrick Nandango to Lead Public Service Commission

Prime Minister Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare on Friday swore in the newly-appointed members of the Public Service Commission, who will serve five-year terms as of 3 March 2026.

The Commissioners include Patrick Nandango, who serves as commissioner and chairperson. He is a former public servant and executive director with extensive experience in government administration. Another commissioner is Linda Scott, who previously served as Director of Multilateral Relations and Cooperation, and has actively been involved in the Women in Diplomacy Network as well as various international negotiations.

Lidwina N. Shapwa is also a commissioner, bringing experience in law and public administration, including service as an executive director.

Gerson H. Kamatuka was also reappointed as a commissioner. He is a human resources professional and a former director in the public service.

During the ceremony, Ngurare urged the newly-appointed commissioners to uphold transparency, accountability, and fairness, while ensuring equitable representation across Namibia’s public service.

“I encourage you all to prioritise the development of young people, ensuring they are given fair opportunities to grow into future leaders within the public service,” stated Ngurare.
