NBL Announces Strong Financial Results for 2025

Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) announced strong financial and operational performances for the year ended 2025, according to managing director Waldemar von Lieres.

This came as the company also showed growth across all its beverage categories, strengthening its market share.

The operating profit rose by 42% to N$830 million, which was driven by margin expansion following the localisation of cider and wine production, accompanied by ongoing productivity gains.

“The group’s performance reflects a deliberate shift towards a more focused portfolio strategy, combined with the cumulative benefits of sustained investments in brands, production capacity and route-to-market capabilities over recent years,” noted Von Lieres.

The financial indicators of 2025 indicate a net revenue increase of 4% to N$4.8 billion as compared to 2024, supported by growth across all categories and an improved portfolio mix.

According to Von Lieres, the strong results were based on the strategy NBL had leading into 2025.

“Our performance reflects the strength of our strategy and the discipline of our execution. Despite significant change in recent years, our strategic intent has remained clear: balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability, and top-line growth with broader stakeholder value creation,” he added.

NBL financial director Willem Bierens de Haan noted that a strong underlying operating performance led to earnings per share increasing by 47% to 306.1 cents, while the headline earnings per share grew by 45%.

According to the group, the reviewed period saw a significant increase of beer volumes, supported by continued brand strength and improved in-store execution.

“Windhoek Draught maintained its position as the country’s leading beer, while Windhoek Lager delivered the strongest volume growth,” shared De Haan.
