The non-banking financial institutions regulator, Namfisa, has confirmed it has issued a regulatory directive to the Namibia Health Plan fund to address the identified settlement challenges.
This relates to the concerns of the Namibia Health Plan (NHP) fund’s direct claim settlement matter.
“However, it has been revealed that the contents of such directives remain confidential in accordance with Section 30 of the Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority Act, No. 3 of 2001.
Namfisa has also further confirmed that it continues to assess the matter and is closely monitoring the fund’s implementation of remedial measures, including efforts to reduce the claims backlog and improve stakeholder communication.
This is after regulatory engagement with NHP, including on-site verification of processes were initiated, enabling Namfisa to obtain facts on the operational challenges experienced.
