
Between January and November 2025, retailers, import agents, and wholesalers have imported 6.4 million kilograms (kgs) of pork meat to supply the Namibian market.
According to the Livestock and Livestock Products Board of Namibia, this represents a 5.0% increase from 6.1 million kgs imported in the same period in 2024.
Most of the pork was imported from Spain, accounting for 39.8% of total imports, followed by South Africa (31.1%), the Netherlands (7.3%), the UK (5.7%) Belgium (5.2%), Ireland (4.8%), and the rest of the world (Portugal, Germany, Botswana & France) respectively sharing the remaining 6.1%.
In November 2025, 4,270 head were marketed compared to 4,352 head in November 2024.
Meanwhile, year-to-date, marketing increased by 4.7% (48,016 head) compared to 45,874 head, in the same period in 2024.
