Investors submitted 38 bids worth N$1.1 billion looking to invest in a 364-day Treasury Bill (TB).
Bank of Namibia held a Treasury Bills auction on 29 January 2026, with N$1.51 billion on offer across the four debt instruments.
On the 364-day TB specifically, the government wanted to borrow N$380 million; however, investors were willing to invest N$1.1 billion as per the seven bids submitted.
Despite the high interest, the Bank of Namibia only borrowed N$418,2 million through the 364-day TB.
At the time of the auction, the government owed N$1.43 billion, in the process of maturing and meant to be paid out to Treasury Bill holders.
