The government is planning to reintegrate 222 fishing workers into four fishing companies, with a commitment to increase allocated quotas to support the increased number of workers.
The Ministry of Fisheries, together with the Ministry of Labour Relations, shared a joint announcement this week, stating that they intend to solve historical issues and the ongoing grievances of the affected workers.
The joint press release did not indicate the four companies, but highlighted that the Ministry of Fisheries would realign their fishing quota allocation to absorb the affected employees.
The two ministries also indicated that they will jointly submit a Cabinet submission with recommendations regarding affected fishing employees.
