Regenesys Education has inaugurated an institution dedicated to the education of artificial intelligence (AI).
The Regenesys School of AI will offer structured programmes across AI fundamentals, machine learning engineering, governance and ethics, applied AI in financial services, healthcare and public administration.
Dr. Nishal Khusial, Managing Partner of AI Africa at Regenesys, underscored that Africa cannot sustain reliance on importing AI solutions tailored for Western data, infrastructure, and regulatory frameworks.
He emphasised the need for practitioners who possess a comprehensive understanding of regional conditions.
Khusial also spoke on the ongoing initiatives related to off-grid and offline AI agents capable of functioning without constant internet connectivity.
AI currently contributes approximately US$3 billion to South Africa’s economy, according to Abongile Mashele, Google South Africa’s Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy.
