During the first three months of 2026, Namibian gold mines have produced 2,723 bullion of gold.

This was exported to South Africa for further refining.

This is according to the various monthly mining sectoral reports compiled by the Namibia Statistics Agency (NSA).

Namibia produces several minerals, which are all exported in raw form with minimal processing.

The NSA tracks gold, uranium, zinc and diamond through the Mining Production Composite Index.

As of March 2026, the Gold Bullion Production Index recovered on a month-on-month basis, posting a 57.1 percent increase after a 19.2 percent decline in the previous month.

On the other hand, the index decreased by 9.5 percent on a year-on-year basis.

Gold bullion production reached 806 kg in March 2026, up from 513 kg recorded in February 2026 but lower than the 891 kg produced in the same month of 2025.

In January 2026, 635 kg of gold was produced, compared to below 840 kg produced in the corresponding month of 2025.

During the same period, the total production of zinc concentrates and contained zinc amounted to 15,585 tonnes.

While for uranium, the country has extracted 2,699 tonnes for the past 3 months, which was drummed up and exported to China, the USA, France, and Canada.

Namibia is extracting various minerals, which are exported in raw form to various destinations for processing.

At the same time, the country also imports commodities like copper for re-exporting.
