Born in Okapya, Oshana Region, Prof. Namwandi’s pursuit of knowledge took him across continents, earning him multiple prestigious qualifications. He holds a BSc, MBA, and a PhD in Business Administration from Asia e-University (AeU) in Malaysia, along with two honorary doctoral awards from universities in Malawi and Cyprus. His academic prowess is further demonstrated through his extensive publications, including:

A Distinguished Political and Educational Career
Prof. Namwandi’s impact extends beyond academia. He served as Namibia’s Deputy Minister of Education (2010–2013) and later as Minister of Education (2013–2015) under President Hifikepunye Pohamba’s administration. During his tenure, he championed policies aimed at improving access to quality education and strengthening Namibia’s higher education framework. Before entering politics, he founded the Institute of Higher Education (IHE), which later evolved into the International University of Management (IUM) Namibia’s first fully accredited private university by the Namibia Qualifications Authority (NQA). Today, IUM boasts over 25,000 students, offering cutting-edge programs in business, information technology, health sciences, Education and more.

Understanding the critical link between education and economic empowerment, Prof. Namwandi established the Namwandi Trust, which provides N$3 million in funding to graduates seeking to launch their own businesses.
