Who would have ever imagined local boys from Otjiwarongo would make a heavy feature with top South African Nonkwazi that would catch so much attention on social media platforms? This is undoubtedly a dream come true.
The Vibe is a local Amapiano song made of typical Namibian elements mixed with South African flavours. The song is a product of DJ Castro featuring Yeezir, DjDreas and Nonkwazi. The music video is shot byPilot Films.
DJ Castro is one of Namibia’s best DJs who has achieved massive triumphs; winning numerous awards, he has made huge collaborations with top local and international artists.
He undoubtedly does not disappoint significantly when he jumps on stage. He always pulls massive performances.
The artist has released his first album in 2019 and two singles, one in 2020 and 2021, respectively.
The video is colour filled with jolly people having a good time in which a ‘vibe’ is portrayed, containing eye-catching scenes with a well-incorporated input of technicalities, such as lighting, angles and of course, a flamboyant quality that one would look for in a song of its calibre.
DJ Castro told the E-Villager that they had a great time shooting the video; “It was not the first time flying out of the country, but I must tell you that this was amazing, it was a ‘wow’ kind of feeling. Especially working with the Pilot Films Company it’s not easy. Thanks to my manager Carlito for making it possible.” he said.
The singer further expressed how proud he feels about himself, saying, “I am humbled enough to say I have made it this far as a young boy from Otjiwarongo. It has always been my dream to work with top-class artists from a very young age. This isn’t the last time my fans should expect a lot in future.”
The artists are trying to push the music video to reach out to as many people as possible. By the time the interview was conducted, the video had reached plus 40 000 views on YouTube.
In addition, the video has also been submitted to local TVs: NBC and One Africa Television; hence fans are urged and advised to tune in and enjoy the art.
DJ Castro also expressed his gratitude to the fans for a positive response, especially on social media. He further appealed to the whole nation to view the music video on YouTube and subscribe.
He said he is busy working out on his next album but could not disclose to The E Villager when exactly he will release it. He also recently tweeted a hint about being invited to perform overseas: “The boy just got his first booking, and he doesn’t know to act. I love 2022.” He said, with a UK flag in the tweet. He must be invited to perform in the United Kingdom.
