A Havana mother, Paulina Fernando, had a rude awakening Monday morning when her two-month-old baby boy was allegedly kidnapped by a woman while she had gone to fetch water.
The baby boy was in the company of Fernando’s 4 and 2-year-old daughters when he was allegedly picked up by a woman who was caught as she was trying to get transport a distance from where she took the baby, she got apprehended by residents.
The incident happened right within the vicinity where a 29-year-old man was shot twice in the chest for attempting to rescue her sister from rape as well as where a 12-year-old girl was raped.
The area is exactly the same where Home Affairs minister, Frans Kapofi, led a high-level delegation of government officials sent by the President to issue a stern warning against violent criminals on the prowl.
After hours of waiting at the Wanaheda police Station, Fernando, alongside the father of the baby, her relatives and neighbours managed to open a case of kidnapping.
The accused woman whose name has not been released by the police was lying prostrate on the floor of the police station when Eagle FM arrived.
