The transport commission granted Namibia Air a five year license to operate and acquire airplanes. In July, through Government Gazette No. 8971, the Government of Namibia announced that its new national airline, Namibia Air, plans to acquire seven aircraft valued at approximately N$594 million. This acquisition forms part of the airline’s preparations for its planned launch by the end of 2026, following the liquidation of Air Namibia. The aircraft will enable Namibia Air to operate both scheduled and charter flights.
