Keetmanshoop Hospital to Receive CT Scan Machine

Minister of Health and Social Services Esperance Luvindao announced that, for the first time in history, Keetmanshoop Hospital will be equipped with a Computed Tomography (CT) scan machine, indicating that the procurement of this equipment is imminent.

“This advanced diagnostic technology will enable earlier and more accurate detection of disease and injury, significantly reducing delays in diagnosis and treatment,” stated Luvindao.

She further explained that it stands as a symbol of the ministry’s determination to modernise healthcare infrastructure and to empower healthcare professionals with the necessary tools to deliver high-quality care.

She also noted that advanced equipment alone does not treat patients; it is the people who do.

“Therefore, alongside this infrastructure, we are placing a critical emphasis on human capital,” stressed Luvindao.

To support these advancements, she stated that the ministry is undertaking decisive measures to ensure the continuity of care by strengthening the pharmaceutical supply chain.

She made these remarks during the inauguration of the renal dialysis unit at the Keetmanshoop District Hospital on Friday.
