There are more than 560 contractor workforces from four Namibian contractors currently developing earthworks, civil construction, aggregate production and infrastructure work for the Etango Uranium Mine.
This was revealed in the Bannerman Energy Quarterly report for the quarter ended 30 June 2026.
The developer indicated that the Bannerman Mining Resources Namibia team and its contract partners achieved one million LTI-free hours on the Etango Project.
The project footprint is increasingly visible on site. eEngineering and infrastructure activities are advancing to plan, and a clear pathway towards transaction completion and the Final Investment Decision is expected soon.
The mine is set to produce an average of 3.5 million pounds (Mlbs) of uranium oxide (U308) over 15 years.
According to the developer, the bulk earthworks contract continues to advance in line with schedule and budget expectations and stands at approximately 92% completion.
Activities remain concentrated on the heap leach pad and associated process solution ponds, while work on the wet plant terraces has continued to expand.
The blasting, crushing and screening is done by Namibian contractor, Tulela Mining & Construction (Pty) Ltd.
According to the mine developer, their work remains well coordinated with the broader construction programme and stockpiles continue to build ahead of future placement on the heap leach pad.
Phase 1 and Phase 2A concrete construction activities are being done by local contractor, K Neumayer Civil Contractors (Pty) Ltd.
According to the developer, their work is continuing well across key dry plant infrastructure areas, with major processing facilities now beginning to take shape across the Etango Project site.
In early June 2026, Bannerman signed the definitive permanent water supply agreement for Etango with NamWater.
This agreement covers the requisite supply of water for operation of the initial Etango-8 development.
According to the mine developer, the construction of Phase 1 of the permanent water supply pipeline is progressing well, with pipeline installation and associated infrastructure advancing across multiple work fronts.
Namibian contractor, AN Construction cc, is undertaking this work, which is now at approximately 87% completion.
Detailed design activities for the acid storage and handling facility at Walvis Bay port is being done by Namibian consultant, Windhoek Consulting Engineers.
The engineering and design works are progressing and on schedule, at approximately 69% completion according to Bannerman updates.
