On 08 June 2026, Welwitchia University signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Hope Home-Based Health Care to strengthen the training, practical placement, and professional development of Bachelor’s degree students in Social Work and Nursing.
The agreement was signed in Windhoek by Prof. Marius Dedimbi, Vice Chancellor of Welwitchia University, and Ms. Eglien Uises, Founder and Executive Director of Hope Home-Based Health Care.
The partnership establishes a collaborative framework for student field placements, joint training and capacity building, research collaboration, community outreach, programme development and evaluation, as well as joint grant applications for health projects.
The agreement is aimed at ensuring that students gain meaningful hands-on experience in real-world settings, where they can apply classroom knowledge, develop professional skills, and benefit from structured supervision and mentorship.
The collaboration also reflects both institutions’ commitment to advancing community-based learning, promoting quality service delivery, and contributing to the development of competent, work-ready graduates in the health and social care sectors.
This partnership is an important step in strengthening practical training opportunities for Welwitchia University’s students while deepening collaboration with an institution that shares our commitment to service, learning, and community impact.
We express our confidence that this partnership will create lasting value for students, communities, and the broader health and social services landscape in Namibia.
