On 11 March 2025, the International University of Management (IUM) proudly inaugurated its Eenhana Campus, a milestone event graced by distinguished leaders including IUM founder and visionary, Prof. David Namwandi, the then Ohangwena regional governor Hon. Rt-LG Sebastian Ndeitunga, and Ondonga King Omukwaniilwa Tatekulu Phillemon Shuumbwa Nangolo.

Their presence underscored the importance of this institution, not only to the region, but to Namibia’s education landscape at large. Today, the Eenhana campus has already attracted a thriving student population of 1,400 learners, standing as a beacon of knowledge in the Ohangwena Region, home to more than 360,000 people. For the local community, the arrival of IUM is more than just an academic expansion; it is a blessing and a life-changing opportunity.

For decades, young people in Ohangwena had to endure the hardship of travelling long distances to Windhoek, Oshana, or other regions to access higher education. This often meant high costs, separation from family, and additional barriers for students from rural backgrounds. Now, with IUM’s presence in Eenhana, the dream of quality education is literally within reach.

As one community member joyfully remarked: “Our children no longer struggle to travel hundreds of kilometres for higher education. With IUM right here in Eenhana, they can build their future just a few steps from home.”

This sentiment is echoed by many young learners. Selma, a Grade 12 learner, expressed her excitement: I plan to study nursing, and I chose IUM because the campus is just near our village. I can still live at home while pursuing my degree.” Such testimonies serve as evidence of the impact IUM is already making in Ohangwena households.

One of the flagship programmes at IUM Eenhana is the Bachelor of Nursing Science Honours (NQF Level 8), designed to equip students with both practical and theoretical expertise in healthcare delivery. Nursing remains one of the most in-demand professions in Namibia and globally, and IUM is answering the call by preparing graduates who are not only academically competent, but also socially responsive and ethically grounded.

In addition, the campus offers the Bachelor of Health and Wellness Studies (NQF Level 8), alongside a wide range of other accredited qualifications. These programmes reflect IUM’s commitment to addressing the urgent need for healthcare professionals, wellness advocates, and skilled practitioners in Namibia’s fast-growing population.

Accessibility: Conveniently located in Eenhana, the campus eliminates the need for costly relocation.

Community Spirit: Students learn in an environment where local culture, values, and aspirations are celebrated.

State-of-the-Art Facilities: The campus boasts modern classrooms, well-equipped libraries, study spaces, and free Wi-Fi access.
