Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly continuously raping and impregnating a 13-year-old girl since March at Okongo Village last year.
The teenager fell pregnant and is currently having a two-month-old baby with the suspect.
The suspect is expected to make his first court appearance on Monday, 24 January 2022.
In another rape incident, a 24-year-old mentally incapacitated woman was allegedly continuously raped by a man between December 2020 and March 2021 at Namib Street, Narraville, in Swakopmund.
Police say the suspect allegedly invited the victim to his place on numerous occasions.
However, it is alleged that there is no relationship between the suspect and the victim.
The victim fell pregnant as a result and gave birth in December 2021. Police are yet to arrest the suspect.
Meanwhile, 53-year-old Juda Kauejao shot himself inside his farmhouse in Otjozonjutji, Okamatapati, on Friday morning.
According to the police, Kauejao came to the kraal and returned to his home before a gunshot was heard.
He left no suicide note behind, and his next of kin were informed.
In another suicide incident, 47-year-old George Kangumine hanged himself with a wire on Friday morning at Brakwater Abattoir.
His colleagues discovered Kangumine’s body at around 10h00.
In the Oshana region, a 35-year-old unidentified man hanged himself on Saturday afternoon at Onendongo village.
According to police, the deceased was wearing a long blue Jean, a white t-shirt, a blue overall jacket, a black belt and black puma shoes.
“No identification document was found or cell phone, neither a suicide note was found on him,” police say.
While 28-year-old Maria Kashululu died in Ohangwena after she was struck by lightning on Friday, it is alleged that Kashululu was running inside the house during the rain when it occurred.
She fell to the ground and died instantly on the spot.
In Swakopmund, 45-year-old Collin Peters was assaulted with an unknown object by a taxi driver. This occurred on Saturday at 23:30 in Tulinawa suburb, Swakopmund. It is alleged that the two had a heated argument. According to the police, shortly after Peters paid the taxi fare, the taxi driver allegedly gave change, got into his vehicle and drove with an unidentified object which he used to assault the victim on the head, leaving him unconscious.
Another 45-year-old, Herold Nawatiseb, died on Saturday after he was found lying with a stabbed wound on the right side of his stomach.
Nawatiseb was taken to Tsumeb Hospital but, upon arrival, was declared dead by the doctor.
No arrests have been made yet, and his next of kin are informed.
In another incident, two male suspects aged 32 and 25 were arrested after stabbing a 32-years-old police officer on Saturday in Tsumeb.
The victim was stabbed several times all over his head and is currently admitted at Tsumeb hospital in a stable condition.
