The government, through the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Tourism has brushed off travel advisories given by countries such as Germany and Canada, noting that, despite a few risks also held by other destinations, the country is still one of the most peaceful and politically stable in the world.
The Ministry, through its statement, also affirmed that it is committed to ensuring the safety and secure environment for the general public, including for travellers and visitors, adding that the country continues to offer visitors memorable and rewarding travel experiences.
The Ministry has also emphasised that safety is a collaborative responsibility, stating that “The safety of our visitors is our priority, but is also our shared responsibility with our visitors.”
With that, they urged visitors to support and reinforce the country’s safety measures by taking general safety precautions and adhering to information and regulations shared by official sources.
In closing, the Ministry assured that Namibia remains open and welcoming to tourists and visitors.
