Cow To Institutionalise Joint Working Sessions With Khomas Regional Council

The City of Windhoek (CoW) Council has agreed to institutionalise joint working sessions between the City of Windhoek, the Khomas Regional Council, and the Central Government. 

CoW announced that the engagement’s decision will be supported by technical teams to ensure that decisions translate into measurable outcomes.

The City indicated that the collaboration signals a shared resolve to move beyond fragmented approaches and towards integrated governance that delivers tangible results for our residents. 

The City said their meeting with the Khomas Regional leadership was constructive and forward-looking, focusing on how the municipality can deepen institutional cooperation to accelerate service delivery and socio-economic development across the region. 

Moreover, the city leadership said they are aligned with sustainable development requirements, planning, shared priorities, and decisive implementation.

The key areas of focus during the City and Regional government’s meeting included:

  • Enhancing service delivery to communities;
  • Strengthening coordinated funding mechanisms with Central

Government;

  • Advancing strategic development partnerships;
  • Accelerating land delivery and housing provision; and
  • Improving structured public consultation processes.
