Bank Windhoek has confirmed its role as Title Sponsor of the upcoming Bank Windhoek National Senior Track and Field Championship.
In an announcement made last week, the bank stated that the investment is to reinforce its commitment to developing sports and creating pathways for Namibian athletes to excel both locally and internationally.
The sponsorship includes N$150,000 towards event preparations for the championship, scheduled for 26-27 April 2026 in Windhoek.
The investment supports high-performance competition, talent identification, and the continued strengthening of athletics structures that feed the national pipeline.
As one of the country’s most accessible sports, athletics plays a vital role in youth development, building discipline, resilience, and healthy lifestyles while offering opportunities for progression from school level to elite competition.
Bank Windhoek’s head of strategic partnerships and corporate social responsibility, Bronwyn Moody, said the bank believes in investing in what moves Namibia forward.
“By supporting Athletics Namibia and the National Senior Track and Field Championship, we are helping to create a platform where athletes can test themselves, improve performance, and take the next step in their sporting journeys,” she stated.
Athletics Namibia is the national governing body responsible for the administration and development of athletics in Namibia.
The federation works to grow participation, develop athletes and technical officials, and provide competitive opportunities that support excellence in the sport.
