The Namibian police have reported that four inmates escaped from lawful custody this past week by climbing through a corridor window at Omega Police holding cells.

The police identified the escapes as Muruti Yakeya, Ruveto Ngotjo from Rundu and of Motswana origin who were detained for poaching while Taimo Bohemia and Mahoma Charles are Angolan.

No arrests have been made yet while a man-hunt is underway.

In other crime news, the police have reported that a 16-year-old mentally challenged girl was raped by a well-known 31-year-old man whose identity has not been made public.

It is said the suspect voluntarily escorted his victim from a neighboring homestead back to her residence, but before reaching her destination. He suddenly aggressively ordered her to undress before sexually violating her.

The suspect has been arrested and investigations are ongoing.

This past Friday a 13-year old female girl was also raped by a 28-year old male suspect at Casablanca club at Karasburg.

The suspect got arrested and was expected to appear in court this week Monday.
