33-year-old Rebekka Eichas, appeared in the Windhoek Magistrate’s Court last week for the continuation of her case of murder.

She appeared before Magistrate Linus Samuzala, Prosecutor Sirka Nangoro representing the State. Eichas has been charged with murder including provisions under the Domestic Violence Act 4 of 2003 for allegedly stabbing and killing a man.

According to court documents, the police responded to a stabbing case on 22 December last year where Elwin Skrywer was found with stab wounds in his chest. This caused his death.

The incident happened on Etetewe Street, where Eichas was immediately arrested. Although she was charged under provisions of the Domestic Violence Act, the court documents did not indicate whether Skrywer was a lover or a relative.

Eichas is currently out on N$2000 bail, and the case has been postponed to 7 December next year for the Prosecutor- General’s decision.
