Acting CRAN CEO, Hitula dies

Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) Board member and Acting Chief Executive Officer Hilma Hitula has passed on.

Hitula who was diagnosed with cancer, fought and lost her battle against cancer. CRAN Chairperson Board of Director Lazarus Jacobs, said on behalf of his fellow Directors, management and staff announced the premature death of Hitula. Jacobs described Hitula as a committed and loyal Board Member and subsequently the Acting Chief Executive Officer of CRAN, saying, she worked over and above her call of duty, adding, she will be sorely missed.

“Hitula was a true reflection of a dedicated, professional and specialist expert who remained a true patriot and her passing will leave a void that will be extremely difficult to fill”, added Jacobs. Jacobs further extended his sincere condolences on behalf of the CRAN family to the bereaved family, friends, colleagues and industry stakeholders that they will remain in their thoughts and prayers always, especially during this difficult time of bereavement.

“Allow me to share these words taken from Isaiah 57:1-2 The righteous man perishes, and no one lays it to heart; devout men are taken away, while no one understands. For the righteous man is taken away from calamity; she enters into peace; they rest tin their beds who walk in their uprightness” said Jacobs.
