The top dogs of Namibian football got relatively favourable draws in the Round of 16 of the Bidvest Namibia Cup. The draw which was held at NFA’s soccer house saw Premier League log leaders Africa Stars draw Nampol Omaheke FC.

Meanwhile Blue Waters FC will take on UNAM FC, Tigers FC will face Julinho Sporting FC, Eleven Arrows vs Kangweru Black Tops FC, Young Chiefs vs Touch & Go, Black Africa FC vs Rebel FC, Swakopmund FC vs Citizens FC and Java Java Java FC vs Orlando Pirates. Bidvest Director of Commercial and Business Development, Theo Mberirua was pleased with how far the progressed so far.

He congratulated the teams that made it into the Round of 16 and wished the teams, players and their coaches the best for the round. “Let the best team on the day win and proceed to the next round,” he said. Mbeirua appealed to fans to come in numbers and pack the stadiums, stating, “Only if we can demonstrate big crowds will you make the NFA’s job easier to secure more sponsorship for soccer.

Please continue to behave accordingly and let us continue to accept defeat and victory with the same dignity. As they say ‘one man practicing sportsmanship is far better than 50 men preaching about it’.”
