The Founding President Dr. Sam Nujoma has congratulated the candidates who made it to the final Swapo List of Candidates to parliament saying the party has selected tried and tested cadres with ability to move development foward.

He said the party has selected list of winning candidates with potential to take the revolutionary party’s agenda foward.

"I am pleased to say that we have selected a winning team of dedicated men and women who stand ready to save their country and take our nation foward. On behalf of the membership of the party I wish congratulate the selected members. Once elected and sworn in these cadres will inject new energy and expertise in our legislature through their commitment to serving the nation,"he said.

Dr. Nujoma also urged the selected candidates to work tirelessly and diligently to develop the country and contribute significantly to the crafting of legislation in parliament.

"It is now incumbent upon the Swapo party to embark on a spirited campaign in order to win convincingly and overwhelmingly during the presidential and national elections. In this context all Swapo party organs and structures should shift into higher gear and mobilise the electorate. We must convey a clear message that the party stands ready to continue serving the nation by building on the foundation of nation building,"he said.
