Namibia  will  host  the  first  ever  KFC  five­a­side  fun  football  beat

soccer event on June 7.

Speaking at the historic announcement KFC's Brand Manager for

Botswana,  Lesotho,  Namibia  and  Swaziland  (BLNS),Thabo

Nstseoane said the event will be annualised.

"This is the first of it's kind and it will be an annual event. For the

next  three  weeks,  interested  youngsters  can  visit KFC,  purchase

any  item  on  the  menu,  fill  in  entry  forms  at  participating  KFC

outlets,  only  in  Windhoek  and  may  stand  a  chance  to  qualify  to

participate in the final event by testing out their skills on an X­box

kinetic gaming console," he said.

“The aim of the event is a way of creating a fun­filled designed for

kids to make new friends, be entertained and bring the brand and

the community together, said Nsteoane.

He  added  that,  "There  will  be  16  teams  in  the  final  event  and

participating teams will be supplied with professional umbra football

kits, similar to those worn by professional soccer teams."

Meanwhile, the age target for this event is for both Boys and Girls

between ages 10 and 14 years respectively.

"We  would  like  to  encourage  all  families  to  visit  their  nearest

participating  KFC  branches  and  register  their  eligible  children  in

this fun event. We will create an awareness campaign in schools

around Windhoek starting next week," said Nstseoane.
