Civics took sweet revenge over old foes, Vixens, with a 42-36 victory in their Central Netball Zone league game, which was played at the Katutura Complex Netball Court on Saturday.
Last year, Vixens defeated Civics in a Fast Five Netball tournament final at the United Netball Court in
Olympia but Saturday’s encounter saw the Khomasdal-based outfit bounce back in the only first division match over the weekend.
Meanwhile, defending champion, Black Africa, takes on Unam in a title decider at the university’s netball court tomorrow (Tuesday).
The eight-team Central Netball Zone, previously known as the Khomas Region Netball League, was renamed last year and now also encompasses teams from neighboring towns, such as Okahandja and                                                   Rehoboth. In the second division matches, also held at the Katutura Netball Court, United 2 beat Gomatifela 2 41-27 while Tigers 2 defeated Cheetahs 59-20.
United’s match against Gomatifela 2 was a learning lesson for the girls from Katutura (Gomatifela) who found it hard to cope with their experienced Olympian counterparts.
