Former Botswana President, Festus Mogae, is in the country to deliver
a speech at a public dialogue organised by the Business School of
University of Namibia.
Mogae's keynote address, to be delivered tonight, will focus on
eco-collaboration between Botswana and Namibia.
He pays a courtesy call to President Hifikepunye Pohamba, who has
received him at State House just before heading off for a state visit
to Senegal.
Pohamba's reciprocal visit to Senegal comes after a call by Senegalese
president, Macky Sall, to Namibia last August and will coincide with
that country's 54th independence anniversary celebrations.
Pohamba's entourage consists of Minister of Foreign Affairs' Netumbo
Nandi-Ndaitwah, Trade and Industry minister, Calle Schlettwein,
Special Advisor to the Foreign Affairs minister, Tuliameni Kalomoh,
the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Selma
Ashipala-Musavyi and other senior Government officials.
The Head of State and his delegation are expected to return this Saturday.
