Teen sets fire to his home

by Linekela Halwoodi
Courts

A 17 year old teen is currently in police custody after he broke into the house he lives in to steal and came back seven days later to set fire to property in the house.

The house in Okuryangava belongs to Ernest Sisomu whose relationship with the teen was not mentioned during his appearance at the Katutura Magistrate Court last week.

Ruben Fritz was charged with house breaking with intent to steal and arson when he was arrested two weeks ago.

He broke into the house on 15 October this year and stole a computer and a laptop. The laptop was later recovered.

He, however, came back a week later and set fire to Ernest’s duvets, pillows and curtains.

Fritz will be conducting his own defence when he returns to court later this year. Meanwhile, his case is being investigated.
