22 Presidential candidates for Namibian election

 President Hifikepunye Pohamba today announced that 22 Presidential
candidates will be vying for the country's top job during his
Independence Day speech.
In the previous election, there were 12 Presidential candidates.
 "At 24 we have achieved great success, such as peace and security,
multiparty, democratic elections. We have no doubt that the upcoming
elections will be conducted fair and in a peaceful manner. I must say
by the wish of God on this day next year I will step down and handover
to the next President in accordance with the constitution" Pohamba
said.
He acknowledged Nigeria's contribution to Namibia's achievement of
Independence.
"This historic achievement was achieved with difficulties. Today we
are proud that people from different political differences have joined
together to come celebrate our good achievement" the President said.
