Woman miscarries after exÔÇÖs punch

A Khomasdaal woman, Patience Simataa, suffered a miscarriage last week after a kick from her jealous ex-boyfriend, Jacques Quinton.
Two-month pregnant Simataa bumped into Quinton while exiting the LQ Lounge in Khomasdaal. He followed her to her car where an altercation broke out.
“He accused me of not letting him see our three year-old son often enough and we started arguing. This, after I told him my son no longer wants to go to his place, because his girlfriend is always mean to him,” narrates Simataa.
He pushed her against her car and then she fell, so did her cell phone whose screen broke in the process.
“I tried to hit him with my cell phone but he ducked and it fell to the ground. When I got up and tried to push him back because he was coming at me, he punched me in the lower abdomen. I screamed and when the security guards got there, he drove away,” she adds.
But Quinton says he only asked Simataa why she had been ignoring his text messages and not returning his calls, as “I need to spend time with my son over the weekends. That’s all I asked and she started cursing and pushing me”.
Quinton denies punching Simataa in the lower abdomen, saying he only pushed her when she tried to claw his face away after which she tripped and fell to the ground.
“It’s not right for her to say I punched her in the stomach, because I didn’t want her to have the baby. I didn’t even know she was pregnant. I have never punched a woman before. It was just a simple push, which made her trip and fall when she tried to scratch my face with her nails,” Quinton explains.
