SBN appoints credit evaluation manager

Standard Bank Namibia (SBN) last week appointed Corrie Kotze as the credit evaluation manager, to take charge of the bank’s vehicle and asset finance and agriculture section within the personal and business banking department.
Commenting on her promotion, which became effective on 1st October, Kotze notes: “I strive to apply my knowledge gained over a period of 30 years within the Standard Bank Group, to add value to the credit evaluation team and business.”
Her responsibilities now include effectively adding value to risk management, to assist personal and business banking in achieving their asset growth targets, while maintaining a quality lending book, through judicious and effective management.
She is also tasked with evaluating proper proposals that meet sound criteria and credit risk falls within acceptable parameters, as well as approving and recommending appropriate credit facilities including the terms and conditions of facilities.
Besides other tasks, she is also expected to provide expert advice to business partners on all matters relating to credit risk assessment in the vehicle and asset finance department, as well as in agricultural environments.
Over the years, Kotze has also been exposed to preparing for the migration of collateral information into Standard Bank Namibia’s new banking system.
Since 1983, Kotze has attained a rich and loyal career history at the SBN. She was in charge of home loans and vehicle and asset finance collateral divisions within the credit division home loans department, from July 2005 to end of September this year.
Focusing on all aspects of banking at SBN Gobabis branch, Kotze was also the branch manager in that town from 1983 to 2005.
She holds a certificate in project management from Statex Consulting (2010) and underwent a management development programme at the University of Stellenbosch Business School (USB) in 2005.
