Grootfontein member of the Namibian Defence Force, Simon Hiduka, appeared in the Grootfontein Magistrate Court last week after being arrested a day before for common assault. According to police reports, Hiduka was involved in a fight with another man at a bar in Grootfontein.
For reasons not quite clear to the police, Hiduka slapped the other man in the face.
The man immediately ran to the police to report the matter. Hiduka was picked up from the bar by the police and spend the night in police custody.
He was freed on a bail for N$500 and the case was postponed to 17 May.
