The Motor vehicle Accident fund (MVA Fund) together with the Blood Transfusion Services of Namibia will host a blood donation initiative this Wednesday at MVA fund Offices in Church Street, Windhoek.
The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness and save lives this Easter weekend which is one of the most notorious in road clashes.
As stated by MVA Fund corporate communication Catherine Shipushu, during this peak period the need for blood products is usually higher while blood donations are in short supply.
“In an effort to ensure that a sufficient blood supply will be available to meet patients’ needs, the MVA Fund will be hosting a blood donation drive at its premises in Windhoek. The officials from the Blood Transfusion Services will run the clinic and attend to all those donating blood,” she says.
In this regard, The MVA Fund called on all Government agencies, businesses and the general public to play their part in saving lives by donating blood.
The blood donation will take place between 09h00 to 15h00.
