Woman knocks boyfriend with vase

martin Willem (38) landed in the Katutura State Hospital after his girlfriend, Jolene Burger, knocked him unconscious with a vase last week in Khomasdal.
The couple was involved in a heated domestic argument that led to a fight when Willem got home last week Wednesday.
There was commotion at the emergency entrance of the hospital as medics rushed to attend to Wilhelm upon arrival and was resuscitated within 10 minutes.
“He was hit with an object on the head by his girlfriend at their house in Khomasdal during a fight. We were called to the scene by the neighbours and there was a broken window at the house. You could see there was a really fight there,” said a member of Windhoek City Police that took him to the hospital.
According to the police officer, who refused to give his name, the argument stemmed from Burger losing the safe key.
“They argued because his girlfriend lost his only key to the safe where he keeps his gun. She said he drinks a lot and always beats her up,” a police officer who refused to give his name said.
Burger, the police officer said, claimed that she hit her boyfriend out of self-defence as he was trying to stab her with a sharp piece of glass that had broken off the window.
According to the police officer, Burger had no major injuries despite a small cut on her lower lip.
Willem claimed that his girlfriend had attacked him with a vase because he was drunk.
“I guess she’s sick and tired of my drinking but I only drank a couple glasses of wine at my friend’s house. That’s not what you can call drinking too much but you know women they always have a problem with the smallest of things,” he said.
Willem refuted reports that he was abusive and the fight stemmed from an argument after his girlfriend had mislaid the safe key.
“If that is what she told you then she was probably just playing with your mind. She’s the mother of my son. Everything will be just fine when I get home. It’s really just a small misunderstanding,” he said.
Burger could not be reached for comment as Willem refused to provide her contact details.
