Finance Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila will this Thursday present the 2013/2014 National Budget.

Kuugongelwa-Amadhila is expected to give notice of intent in Parliament tomorrow, (Tuesday) seeking the availability of Thursday for the tabling of the 2013/2014 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).

Deputy Finance Permanent Secretary I – Ben Nashandi confirmed the latest developments.

“We should have the final answer tomorrow but currently we are waiting on having the Honourable Minister’s budget presentation this Thursday,” he said.

The core area for fiscal policy during this Medium-term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) is expected to shift to the National Development Plan IV (NDPIV).

Last year the budget theme was fiscal sustainability and job-creating growth - doing more with less” which was set on allowing Government to stay on course in terms of poverty reduction, enhanced domestic economic development, improved service delivery and accelerated job creation.
