Suspected of acting under the influence of drugs, according to his baby-mama, a Havana man went on an assault rampage two weekends ago in which he beat her up as well as his girlfriend.
Paulus Mwaetako, 30, on 12th of this month, was in Okuryangava with his girlfriend, Luise Johannes, when he started his assault riot.
During a disagreement, he pulled a knife on Johannes and threatened to stab her but did not follow through with the threat.
The next day, he went to his baby-mama, Linda Halwoodi’s shack where he assaulted her with a broomstick on the head, then hit her with an iron bar.
After assaulting his baby-mama, he went back to the shack he and his girlfriend share and set it on fire. When he was arrested, he told the police that he did not know what he was doing.
He now faces charges of assault, assault by threat and arson.
Although he appeared in the Katutura Magistrate Court this week, he is still in police custody. He will return to court on 9th January next year.
