NamPol arrested a 56-year-old man before burning down his girlfriend’s house in Katutura two weeks ago.
Michael Booysen is currently in police custody but made his first appearance at the Katutura Magistrate Court last week.
On 21st of last month, Booysen went to his girlfriend’s house at Erf no. 9717 Victor Nkaoli Street in Katutura with the intention and material to burn down the house.
The court documents do not mention the events that led to the man’s rage. He, however, found himself behind bars before he could do any serious damage.
Apart from attempted arson, he is also faces another charge of assault by threat (for threatening the woman).
He remains in police custody without bail and will appear in court on 28th of this month to have his case heard again.
