Two boys aged 16 and 14 who live in a children’s home are facing attempted rape charges after they unsuccessfully tried to rape a girl who also lives with them in the home.
The incident allegedly happened on 27th of last month and the police were promptly called to deal with the teen assailants.
The boys were not arrested by the police. Instead, they were taken to the police station before being released in the care of their guardians.
They have since been sent for juvenile screening to determine whether or not they are fit to stand trial.
The boys made a brief appearance in the Katutura Magistrates Court the week before last and reappeared in court last Friday.
