A Katutura man found himself on the wrong side of the law when he underestimated the law and took a joyride in a Toyota Corolla without the owner’s consent.
Clemence Kashuupulwa, 23, was arrested on 3rd of this month after being caught driving a car with number plates N12679W in Wanaheda the previous day. The owner, Thomas Ammandes, called the police on the youngster who had not seen the charge coming.
Although he is only facing a charge of using a motor vehicle without an owner’s consent, which could have been a case of theft, he is still liable to pay a fine of not less than N$20 000 or get a prison sentence of not more than five years.
He is currently out on a N$300 bail and will be conducting his own defence when his case returns to court on 28th of this month
