Meat thief in double trouble

by Linekela Halwoodi
Courts

Two men who were arrested after they were found in possession of a whole goat carcass and could not explain where they got it made another appearance in court this week.
The men, Witbooi Edwin and Kevin Auchab from the Dordabis location in Windhoek district, were arrested and detained in February this year.
They failed to tell the police how the carcass of the goat which was suspected to have been stolen came into their possession.
They were then charged with possession of suspected stolen meat as they were unable to give a satisfactory account of such possession.
The duo, however, managed to get bail. Auchab was released on N$6000 bail while Edwin only paid N$200.
Edwin, however, still found himself in police custody after he was arrested in connection with another crime which court documents did not indicate.
This case was remanded to 27 September 2011 because the witnesses were absent. Auchab was warned to be at court at 08h30.
