Man curses at mother in-law

Courts

Simon Kaniye’s excessive eating habits caused his girlfriend to lock her fridge one day in October last year, which led to a verbal abuse and then a warrant of arrest.
Kaniye was supposed to appear in the Katutura Magistrate Court this week but failed to turn up, forcing the court to issue a warrant of arrest for him.
His girlfriend opened a case of malicious damage to property and crimen injuria against him after he tried to break into her fridge in October last year.
The argument between the two had not been physical but Kaniye would not leave things for what they were as he went on to snap the lock off the fridge.
He had hardly got to the goods when he started cursing at his girlfriend, in reference to her mother’s private parts.
He was arrested and kept in custody for over a week after the incident took place but he is currently out on a N$500 bail. After failing to appear in court this week, a warrant of arrest has been put in for him and his case is expected to return to court in about two weeks.
