Robbed Spar customer fails to get refunded
An Otjiwarongo based woman who was robbed of her money in full view of a guard who did nothing about it has finally received an apology from the supermarket’s owner, although she may never recover her money back.
Theo’s spar management only apologized to a Magdalena Samuel following a recent incident where she was robbed of N$3000 at a spar outlet at Orwetoweni suburb in Otjiwarongo.
Speaking to this publication, Samuel said that the management told her they will see what they will do about the money.
“They asked me to provide proof of the amount of money I had. I told them that I had withdrawn the cash the day before and to prove it to them I can show them a withdrawal statement from the bank. But they said that such proof is not concrete enough and that I should find proof that will satisfy them,” she said.
The distraught woman said that she was now in a difficult situation as she had been robbed while trying to buy all her monthly grocery.
When contacted for a comment, the human resource manager at the supermarket, Rudy Kaaronda, saying "I am not going to tell you what happened because I think that from here it is between us and the lady. I would like you to investigate if you feel like finding out what conclusion we have come to.”
“I cannot help you with any information regarding the issue. The last meeting was between her and the chief executive officer so please ask whatever you like to ask her,” she said.
The chief executive officer of Theo’s spar, identified only as Theo, could not be reached as he was reportedly out of office when this publication contacted his office.
