Beaten and robbed

by Linekela Halwoodi
Courts

Coyiela Mourie spent the week before last Christmas recovering from a brutal attack by her boyfriend, Kennedy Petrus who beat and robbed her.
Petrus who resides at Erf 6039 Hofranger Street, Katutura made his first brief appearance in court last week facing an assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm charge under the Domestic Violence Act.
On 16 December last year while in Khomasdal, Windhoek, Petrus and his girlfriend had an altercation that turned into a real sticky situation when he wrestled her to the ground and beat her up.
She needed medical attention for serious injuries she sustained on her head as well as her finger during the attack.
As if that was not enough, Petrus, before abandoning his injured girlfriend, robbed her of her phone, credit cards as well as her cell phone charger.
Petrus had been on the run and was only arrested last week.
He is currently out on a N$500 bail and is expected to return to court in June this year as the case is still being investigated.
