Owner of one of Namibia’s leading music labels Deal Done Records. Djokic, fondly known as Antonio, has taken steps towards building a bridge between artists and corporate Namibia in a bid to help shape the music industry in the country.
What are your hobbies?
I have no hobbies, I am too much of a workaholic.
What project are you currently working on?
I am working on My Ongoma Media Project titled “One for All”.
What made you decide to start the My Ongoma Media?
It’s an old project but finally I have proper business partners that are willing to go into such an adventure.
What has been one of your most embarrassing moments?
I once lost my shoes in public, so I had to walk around without shoes!
What is your favourite colour?
Dark Maroon
What made you decide to move to Namibia?
Coming to Africa has been a dream of mine since childhood, and I chose Namibia because I am fascinated by the Skeleton Coast.
What will the My Ongoma Media project focus on?
My Ongoma Media project looks to unify local artists and corporate Namibia. So far we have a number of female artists that have agreed to be part of the project and what’s going to happen is that we will be releasing a joint album featuring all these artists and soon thereafter a national tour. Just to show unity amongst the artists and corporate Namibia
Who is your dream date and why?
Naomi Campbell, real beauty is with black women.
What special talent do you have that people don’t know about?
I was a very good and talented boxer.
What is the most important thing a label owner should know?
Everything is about “Team Work”
Do you prefer cats or dogs?
Dogs, because they have more power
What is your favourite meal?
Chicken livers!! I love them.
Describe your perfect weekend?
Besides watching my favourite soccer club Chelsea play, I enjoy spending time with my four-year old boy watching cartoons.
Who is the one person that you’ve met that has given you a different prospective on life?
I met Nelson Madiba Mandela in 1997 and that is an unforgettable moment.
What phrase or saying has gotten through the darkest times in your life?
I was a part of a war for six months in my country, luckily I am mentally strong and I just removed it from my memory as everything is a part of destiny.
