Namibia Oil and Gas Launches Second Bi-Annual Industry Report

A data-driven analysis and insights report into developments shaping Namibia’s oil and gas sector was launched last week.

The launch of the report was attended by various senior executives, policymakers, financial institutions, and industry professionals, highlighting the local and international interest in Namibia’s growing energy potential.

Speaking at the event, Sanjay Korteweg, founding partner of Namibia Oil and Gas, stated that the Bi-Annual Industry Report reflects how far Namibia’s oil and gas sector has progressed.

“It is about sharing credible insights, strengthening collaboration, and ensuring stakeholders remain aligned as the sector continues to mature,” he noted, adding that the initiative ensures industry information remains accessible to Namibians and evolves alongside the sector.

Also speaking at the launch, Véronique Herman, the chief executive officer of Africa Provider Offshore Services, emphasised the importance of reliable data for local companies seeking to participate meaningfully in the sector. “…informed decision-making is critical in a high-risk industry,” said Herman.

She added that collaboration between Namibian companies within the energy sector is important for the progression of the sector.

The report highlights a snapshot of key projects in oil and gas, exploration activities, and supply-chain developments, enabling stakeholders to identify opportunities and better understand Namibia’s evolving energy ecosystem.
