It has already become pretty clear that 2017 is going to be a stellar year for the Namibian music Industry as we have anticipated new albums and exceptional music videos, including singles from tons of upcoming artists.

After making his debut at the 2017 Namibian Annual Music Awards (NAMA) earlier this year with an amazing performance alongside the legendary award winning super star Martha Namundjembo, known as Lady May, Toivo K Nuugulu aka Leather Mein released his ?rst video for his debut single titled ‘You and Me’ and currently making headlines on international airwaves.

The video was received well with more than 8 000 viewers on YouTube so far, however, the number of viewers keep increasing on a daily basis as many people are only getting familiar with the song now after it was uploaded in May already.

One would believe that the quality of music videos released recently has improved tremendously over the  past few years, from shooting with phones to small digital cameras to now using the most latest cameras and equipment’s. The song which was produced by the House Guru Gang is now playing at international broadcasters such as Chanel O and Trace TV, including MTV Base.

“You and Me plays on Trace, the video was approved the ?rst week we took it which proves that it is a video worth playing, when it comes to me and my team, we don’t compromise quality over anything and that is how we have managed to bring out the best out of this project,” he said’ The New Kid on the block further expressed enthusiasm over the newly released video saying that the video was well planned and shot by his very own record label ‘Pamoja Records’ in collaboration with Brown & Sabrina.

When asked on what the public can expect in terms of music, he retaliated saying that, “I don’t want to say much or make promises and give time on when the net song is coming out or music video, let us rather keep it as a surprise.”

Leather Mein who describes himself as a versatile artist is not only artists but also an architect by profession, now we all know where the creativity comes from. Although the artist could not reveal much about his future plans musically, if you’re a house lover, ‘You and Me’ is the song you should listen to.

The video was shot at the coastal area at Strand Hotel where it starts off with an amazing scene where Leather Mein sits outside with a glass of wine embracing the ocean view while looking at Lady May giving him a sexy dance. If we could have more of such music videos in Namibia were all the shooting is done professionally from acting to the dress code, we would see more Namibian content on international music channels.

“Working with Lady May was amazing, she is very professional and does not disappoint, truth be told I really had an awesome experience with her, she made me feel comfortable all the way,” he said. He further uploaded his manager for his hard work and dedication throughout the production process saying that he is blessed to be part of a team with the same goals.
