Khomas police commander commissioner Ismael Basson has warned the public from using shortcuts and bushy areas.
This came after a woman’s body was discovered next to ELCIN Hosianna Parish near the Swapo headquarters in the early morning hours of Thursday, covered in blood.
“We always advise people that shortcuts are always where all danger is laying. Shortcuts are mostly bushy areas where criminals are laying,”
He advised that people should always be in open areas and encouraged the police to patrol regularly.
“It is suspected that it must have happened at 06h00 or 07h00 in the morning. It is suspected that she was stabbed. She was killed somewhere close to the independence arena and walked some kilometres before she eventually fell and died,” he told The Villager.
According to the commissioner, the deceased is an older woman, but the police could not yet determine her age.
Basson said this was a murder, but no suspects were currently arrested. Police investigations continue.
