The man who reportedly stabbed 25-year-old Lee Junior Willy in the early hours of today at Mondesa in Swakopmund was arrested following a manhunt by police officers.
Erongo Regional Nampol Spokesperson Inspector Ileni Shapumba said that the murder happened between 00H00 and 01h00 in Mandume Ndemufayo street next to Etunu bar, Mondesa Suburb, Swakopmund.
Allegations are that a fight erupted between the deceased and the suspect, and in the process, the suspect fatally stabbed the deceased with a knife and fled the scene.
“It is further reported that the deceased stumbled about 100m from the scene before he collapsed. Hence, the police officers who attended to the report followed the trail of blood spots from the open space in Single Quater towards Mandume Ndemufayo Street until they found the deceased laying in a pool of blood. Emergency personnel from Code Red Ambulance attended to the report and took the deceased person to Swakopmund State Hospital. He was declared dead by a Doctor,” Shapumba stated.
Police say the suspect is only known as Ororo, residing in DRC Location and speaks Otjiherero.
Shapumba stated that the deceased’s next of kin were informed and that an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
