LPM IN VERBAL FIST-FIGHT WITH EX-FOUNDING MEMBER

The Landless People’s Movement (LPM) has said it is in the process of instituting criminal charges against its former founding member, Ziggy Sixtus Isaacks, for the disappearance of over N$76 000.

This comes as Isaacks resigned from the party earlier this week.

According to LPM, the disappearance of over N$76 000-00 came when Isaacks was still receiving his allowance.

The party added that this amount is unaccounted for in its financial and accounting procedures.

“Isaacks deliberately refused to, and persists in that refusal, subject himself to basic governance systems of the institution. He lacks a sense of accountability and prefers to operate in the darkness of anarchy,” the party said.

Moreover, LPM said it looks forward to meeting Isaacks at the labour court.

“As a new and value-laden political formation, LPM takes the principles of accountability and ethical leadership very seriously. We do not compromise on these values, for doing so would destroy the internal and institutional cohesion.”

Isaacks had previously dragged the party to the labour court for outstanding salaries.

In his resignation letter, Isaack stated that he could no longer be part of an organisation that doesn’t have respect for humanity.

“I can’t be in an organisation whose future is determined by prophets. I can’t continue with a party with leaders who believe in gossiping, badmouthing and gaslighting. I can’t be in a party we’re decisions are taken on emotions and hearsay and doesn’t respect its own rules and regulations.”

LPM spokesperson, Eneas Emvula, said “it is unfortunate that the character assassination campaign” against the party’s leader Bernadus Swartbooi and deputy leader Henny Seibeb attempts to discredit the party.

“Isaacks and Adam Kuhlman, the former Mariental mayor in cohort with their supporters-Swapo social media-based cheerleaders have no leverage against tested nationalist politicians and leaders of the LPM,” said Emvula.

Kuhlman had resigned from the party earlier this month on 10 March 2022.

“Such a short-lived campaign must be disregarded in the strongest terms,” the party said.

According to LPM, in 2020, Isaacks contested against the late Maxie Minnaar to be nominated as the party candidate for by-elections in the primaries.

After his defeat in the primaries, the party said Isaacks began to develop a hatred for order and discipline.

“He never recovered from this transgression. His hate-based political ambition deteriorated into a negative stench of inside fighting at the level of local and regional party structures,” the party stressed.

Additionally, the party said following elections of the regional and local authorities in 2020, Isaacks again availed himself for nomination at the party level.

He was defeated again, LPM said.

“Seeing his repeated political demise, and deeply recognising his sustained unpopularity, rooted in his fundamental leadership deficiencies, he shifted focus to the Berseba constituency.”

The party further said that the trend of rejections was personally painful that Isaacks felt a profound hatred for LPM.

“He retreated towards slur, creating alternative realities and locating himself as a victim in the party. He was often counselled by senior party leaders on many occasions, as he was often at the point of personal depressive break down due to his numerous political defeats.”

The party expressed that Isaacks’s true character emerged during his assignment at the National Head Office.

“Isaacks’ proclivity toward unclean tendencies got the better of him.”

It concluded that its national leadership was subjected to a meet-and-talk session with Isaacks.

However, they said, “He and others resorted to social media gimmicks, proclaiming to be victims of dictatorship and witch-hunts.”
